Jonathan D. Christenbury, MD, FACS
In addition to his accomplishment in laser vision correction. Dr. Christenbury has an interest in “clear cornea, no stitch” cataract surgery, which offers patients a fast recovery time with excellent long-term results. Dr. Christenbury’s academic background is noteworthy. A graduate of Duke University of School of Medicine, the doctor completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Duke Eye Center and then spent a year in fellowship training at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. He has reached the highest level of distinction in his field as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. At home, Dr. Christenbury is an avid reader and pursues a variety of athletic activities, including scuba diving, cycling, water sports, tennis and basketball. |

Jonathan Christenbury, M.D., F.A.C.S., is the Medical Director of the Christenbury Eye Center and is at the forefront of his specialty in laser vision correction. Since performing the first LASIK procedure in the Carolinas in the early 1990s, he has completed more than 60,000 LASIK procedures, making him one of the most experienced LASIK physicians in the world. He also serves as a laser investigator for many clinical studies. Dr. Christenbury was also the first physician to perform IntraLASIK™ — All Laser LASIK — on the East Coast and the first to perform WaveFront Customized IntraLASIK in the Carolinas.
